Callanish
Standing Stones (2013) |
The Callanish Standing
Stones (The Galic name is Calanais) are situated on the on the
Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides. This is a magical place that I find truly inspirational. Dating back over 4000 years, the Callanish stones rank second in terms of importance only to Stonehenge and are older. These silvery stones are made of Lewisian gneiss and stand on a small hill called 'Cnoc an Tursa' - 'Hill of Sorrow'. |
